MEET ANDY WALSH – THE NEW MANAGING DIRECTOR OF CITYNET

Citynet Insurance Brokers – leading wholesale insurance brokers in the UK and Ireland, is proud to announce the appointment of Andrew Walsh as the group’s Managing Director.

Andrew joined Citynet in 2011 to head up their Fleet Department and was appointed to the board of Directors in 2014. Whilst overseeing Citynet’s Motor Division, Andrew was instrumental in successfully growing a revenue stream that saw Gross Written Premium rise from £2m to £25m over a five year period.

Andrew has 20 years’ experience in the insurance industry, all of which working within Lloyds and London Market Broking Houses. His career began in 1996 when he joined R L Davison & Co, recognised largely as one of most credible Lloyds Motor Wholesalers of that era. Five years on he joined Edgar Hamilton as Placing Broker, then left to join Carroll & Partners in 2006, joining their Main Board of Directors three years later.

In his new capacity, Andrew will look to replicate his recent success in other areas of the business as well as looking to develop new areas and products that can be offered to Citynet’s panel of brokers. Andrew will also focus on market development as Citynet is looking to build upon their already impressive controlled gross written premium, which is already in excess of £130M.

“We are delighted to officially welcome Andy in his new role of Managing Director,” said Richard Scott, CEO at Citynet. “Andy’s experience with us is an invaluable asset to our company and our clients and will no doubt reflect on the work he’s already undertaking.

“We were looking for a person with drive and ambition to keep the business on its upward trajectory and add a new dimension to the Executive committee,” said David Walland CFO. “Andy has proved he has all these attributes and will make a great success of his new role”
